And that puts the nail on the coffin! 6-2 win in Game 5 gives us the 4-1 series win over Rio in Round 1! Nice to finally make a second round appearance! I thought this series went well for us.
Game 1, Good Goaltending, Flath, Bourret, Beauregard line killed! Defense was good! Russo played fantastic! Game 2, Again, Great Goaltending, Good Offensive Power and Defensive breakups! Game 3, Couldve had better goaltending; More explosive offense. A game to put behind us Game 4, Great road win. We definitely needed that! Good offensive performance, especially by Bourret. Game 5, By far the best game played. Great checking, Great offense, Players leading the team. Great performance by Russo, Tetrault, Flath, Robinson and Kevin Young! I couldn't be more proud of the boys for their first round win! Hopefully Texas can pull out the win and advance over Allen. I think a Thunder-Brahmas series would be a good one! Looking forward to Round 2!!!! BLUE REVOLUTION! 8 more wins for the CHAMPIONSHIP! Thoughts on Round 1?? Most affective player.. things we could've done better... etc. T4L

Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there tonight, so I'm basing this off the rest of the series and a the recaps of tonight, but I think co-most effective players has to be Flath/Bourret/Beauregard. That line was simply dominate this series. Regardless of which team we play next, if that line continues to perform at that level this team will be difficult to beat, especially if Davis can return and provide a spark working with Robinson and Summers.
I'd love to see Allen win their next game and force a game 7 because I'm sure a game 7 between Allen and Texas would be pretty much all out war. Let our guys relax and heal up for a few days and be ready come out strong against a worn down team making their first true bus trip of the postseason. |

Hopefully the special teams sees some improvement. More traffic in front and a turn of luck, even tired goaltending if the Allen/Texas series goes the distance should see the powerplay output increase.

Texas won last night as everyone knows but did anyone look to see who was in goal for Texas it wasn't Guggenberger. It was back-up goalie Brad Fogal who picked up the Shutout againist Allen. Texas now has 2 very solid goaltenders so actually to me that ups my vote from 4-2 win over Texas to a 4-3 win over Texas because they now have two very capable goalies.
