Photobucket vs. Photobucket 5:05pm (CST) @ Intrust Bank Arena

Number three seeded Texas (33-25-8 / 0-1) is looking to take revenge on number one seeded Wichita (44-19-3 / 1-0) for Game 2 of the Berry Conference Finals. The Brahmas were defeated 3-1 in Game 1 and look to even the score.

The key for the Brahmas is still their neutral zone trap. They did a fairly good job of it last night and need to continue to do so if they wish to stay in this series. Texas also need to free up their production players. Wichita has done a good job of shutting them down.

The key for Wichita is to continue to keep pressure on Fox, Hodge and Hellyer. The Thunder kept their main scorers from scoring, but didn't keep their eye on Nutkevitch, Rouleau and Woollard. It was Nutkevitch that scored Texas's lone goal and Woollard who assisted on it. Wichita seemed to do have some trouble with the trap. Hopefully they have figured a way to get through it. The power play...3.8%...REALLY?! Things had better change in this department if they want to win this series!!!

I think Wichita has somewhat figured out Texas and will take this one 4 - 2 (but I'm not against a blowout).

I'm thinking they'll want to have 2 in the bag before heading off to Texas. But the Brahmas will not roll over easily. I'm saying 3-2, with some chippiness, if not an outright fight. Gotta get back to hitting hard the entire 60 minutes and making smart passes. That is, if the IBA gets through the weather tonight.....

When you pull on that jersey, you represent yourself, and your teammates. And the name on the front on the jersey is a hell of a lot more important than the one on the back!

An interesting stat from the regular season meetings between these two shows 7 of 8 games were won by 1 goal. I expect these games to be just as close. Friday night's game was close till the empty netter (which you have to admit was an extremely lucky shot) and the purple cows could have tied it up and sent it into overtime. I don't think you will see much of a difference from Friday night's game. I would expect them to come at the Thunder with the exact same game plan and line-up.
That's just my opinion and I might be wrong.

i think most of us pretty much expect every game in this series to be close heart attack inducing games. I almost couldn't watch the last 2 minutes of game one was nervous they were going to score.

Although I agree with you about the series being close. I don't think we need to worry about that this game. Wow, what a 2nd preiod.........7 goals on 12 shots

Wow...what a sweet game!! Had the same couple (Brahma's fans) sitting that sat in front of us tonight that were there Friday...tonight they had a friend that we talked to. The couple were the owner (or one of them?) of the Brahma's. He didn't look that happy tonight...ended up leaving early.

It's pronounced thunor!

Holy Crap! What a game. I admittedly, had some apprehensions about this game....sometimes I am very happy being wrong (I will only admit that here).

The boys really put on an amazing show, really looking forward to keeping it up as they head to the shoebox. Definitely looking forward to the bus trip now.

Lizon had been trying to fight Hand all night. At one point Wildfong actually kept Ryan on the bench so he wouldn't go fight. Sawyer and Hand started talking on the boards, there was a whistle and when Lizon saw what was going on he grabbed Hand from behind. Refs jumped in and when that happened Sawyer came in and started punching hand. All three guys then dropped gloves and it was a bit of a melee...

Lizon challenged hand not too long beforehand. Hand declined. Next shift out, Hand tries to start stuff with Sawyer behind the play. Lizon doesn't like that and goes after him, but the linesmen get in the way, then Sawyer jumps in and they both start whaling on Hand. Funny stuff.

Holy crap, what a game! My throat and my cowbell arm are sore from celebrating. When the Brahmas scored first I thought we were in for a battle. The only battle was which Thunder player could score the most points! The Brahmas have got to be feeling completely embarrassed right now.

From my POV, Sawyer and Hand got into it with a little shoving, and Lizon came flying in and invited himself to the fight.

Two players won this game single handedly.. Russo, key saves in first. Bourret, shorthanded goal, changed tempo of game. Excellent game but far too few of fans.

Actually, I think the attendance was pretty good considering we had a tornado go through town last night. I imagine that changed some folks plans for this evening. So what's up with the shorthanded goal barrage? The boys trying to make up for the crappy power play they've had so far in the playoffs? If it keeps working for us, I'll take it! LOL

And she hasn't came up with anything. Nice! She needs to stop spreading hear say. Why is it a common thing around the league to call the Thunder "dirty" after they get beat? I guess their fans gotta blame some reason for why their team lost. How about actually saying the Thunder just put played you? How hard is it to say that??? furious3.gif

Penalty Shots, are by far the most exiting play in hockey, and he capitalized. Excellent play. reason I picked Bourret and Russo is because of the tempo the Brahmas had after the penalty shot and it took key saves at the end of the period to stay even, then the short handed goal sunk them.

Also, i think the classiest part of the game was Lizon and Sawyer down by the ice (section 110) signing autographs for the fans after they got booted from the game. And they signed alot too.

I've usually ignored most all her postings because she usually cries about how the ref sucked...hell she does it even when Texas wins LoL. I just couldn't help calling her out on it because I had a feeling that she was just spouting off and she pretty much confirmed it by coming back with the "well I heard the lady next to me's friend say, that her mother said..."

Wildfong has given the team a red light on fighting for this series. There is also another reason why Hand didnt fight besides his coaches orders, and Lizon and Sawyer know it. They were just trying to put on a show for the home crowd. Wildfong is probably happy right now cause he got two birds with one stone. I will have a little more on it in the Post Game Recap on Arm Chair shortly.

other teams fans always complain that we are dirty after they play us... it's called hockey losers lol it is a physical game. not the thunder players fault that your boys can't compete with the pounding they dish out every game.. It will be very interesting to see who Wildthong starts in goal for game 3. My guess is it will be Fogal cause in my opinion Guggenburger has either hit the rookie wall or he is just completely fried mentally he has been bad for the last 3 weeks to a month.

I think we should start to decline every time the other team gets a penalty and instead we choose to be short handed.. Bourret, Flath, and even Davis are dynamite on the rushes they get playing short handed.

I have heard this a few times now from several different people.... WHAT is this reason why Hand won't fight spill the beans.
