Was reading on another site that the malards are closing the doors for next year. With talks of Dayton doing the same. It looks like the CHL is falling apart right infront of our eyes. Looks like the CHL powers to be need to get on their game and try to plug this hole in the sinking ship. I do not want to lose pro hockey.

I do not want to lose pro hockey. pro hockey will not leave wichita, if the chl falls apart which I don't think is going to happen this season, we will most likely just move to a different league. My guess is forte wayne would start up the ihl again (which is what they want to do anyways) and we would be one of the teams to go there. You've just been thunderstruck!
Over 18, but glad I'm still hot enough looking to keep my young looks in your opinion |

Some "fans" seem to have a need to worry, in my opinion the sky is not falling, and the CHL is not going anywere. Teams coming and going are part of minor league hockey, there is nothing new happening this year.

I'd say this is a new trend and one that will probably continue unless something drastic changes. Without going back and making a list I'd be willing to bet that in the past 4 years the IHL & CHL have lost 3 teams for every expansion team. This year that ratio will be higher since I doubt we see a new team start-up and I'm certain we'll lose more than 3. |

Looks like the CHL since 2006/2007 has gained 4 teams to expansion and lost 8.
Gain - Texas, Rapid City, Allen & Missouri Lost - Youngstown, Austin, Lubbock, Rocky Mountain, Oklahoma City, New Mexico, Corpus Christi & Amarillo The IHL has lost 4 and gained 2 Gain - Quad City & Evansville Lost Muskegon, Port Huron, Flint & Kalamazoo So since 2006/2007 for every team the leagues have added they lost 2. Texas & Quad City also had been in those leagues previously but I counted them as adds. It also looks like the Evansville team was possibly Muskegon the previous year so you could argue that we've really only added 3 or 4 teams and lost 12 |

One thing that might happen especially if the CHL is still around is that Komets and Thunder will probably see more of each other next season.
